I feel incredibly fortunate to love my work which is strongly founded in establishing a safe, secure, and respectful therapeutic relationship with clients. I provide empathetic therapeutic support for clients struggling with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, and interpersonal difficulties as well as more persistent problems which can include PTSD/trauma, psychotic or personality disorders, or chronic illness. I draw on several approaches including psychodynamic, art therapy, mindfulness and somatic-based practices, motivational interviewing, and dialectical and cognitive behavior therapies. I believe everyone has the right to live an authentic, healthy, and safe life. In my work I am committed to working with clients to nurture inner wisdom, navigate hardship, find ease, and embrace life’s pleasures.
I provide an LGBTQ affirmative approach to psychotherapy which recognizes the immense value of each LGBTQ person’s well-being, and seeks to create a supportive environment for personal acceptance and growth. I have experience providing affirmative therapy in residential care and in community mental health settings with LGBTQ youth and adults. I work to provide a supportive environment to serve as a counter-force to issues regarding minority status and to help liberate your full creative potential. I believe that therapy should be accessible, and offer a sliding scale.
